Take the pain of our finding a job, by getting found by recruiters and hiring managers

By Ray Baptiste
We all know that finding a job at times feels like a full-time job, so wouldn’t it fabulous if you had recruiters and hiring managers looking for you and your skills, saving you both time and effort. however, to get headhunted you have to set the conditions to be found and thought of a someone of interest, below are the initial steps you should be taking to elevate your online presence.
There is a lot of noise on social media today, so how do you get yourself in the crosshairs of the right recruiters and hiring managers? Although there are many channels to promote yourself on, as LinkedIn is the most prominent I’ll be focussing on this today.
Ensure that your LinkedIn is fully optimised plus add keywords into your profile so you may also rank on Google (I have an article and course about this coming soon)
Ensure that you select some organisations you would like to work for and ‘follow’ them, on LinkedIn, as this alerts internal recruiters and hiring managers who in return tend to source candidates who have shown an interest in their organisation.
Ensure that your LinkedIn bio has your USP, career objectives and value-add clearly outlined
Start following thought leaders within your industry and commenting on their content
Join your sector groups (if there isn’t one, set one up) start engaging with other users, build your network – s ending invites and accepting them when sent to you, understand new trends within your industry and comment on them.
Send invites to internal company recruiters within your target sector and preferred companies most of the time they will be happy to connect.
